As an Inuit artist from Kuujjuaq Québec, Tanya Mesher Jones, is known throughout Nunavik for her abstract acrylic paintings. Her work depicts scenes of Nordic culture and society, in a simple manner, which nonetheless, contains much movement and color. Tanya includes images and representations of her Inuit culture, but is not afraid of exploring and developing new concepts and ideas. She wants others to discover her heritage, her nation and the way it has acclimatized to contemporary society. Tanya tries to bring together the current day style and past culture.
